Purple coneflower seed packet

$2.50

Purple coneflower, also known as Echinacea, is a hardy, herbaceous perennial and one of the most recognizable native wildflowers in North America. Its bold, purple blooms add long-lasting color and structure to gardens from summer into fall.

This easy-to-grow plant thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerates drought once established and returns reliably year after year. Purple coneflower has a long history of herbal use and is especially valuable for pollinator habitat, attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects.

Seeds should be cold stratified before planting and are best direct sown outdoors. Sow seeds about 1/4 inch deep, spacing plants 10 to 12 inches apart. Plant in spring or fall. Purple coneflower thrives in full sun to partial shade and is hardy in zones 3 through 9, including West Michigan.

One packet covers up to 80sqft and works well in flower gardens, containers and with mixed perennial plantings.
