Used Worm Wigwam. The Worm Wigwam is a continuous flow-through (CFT) vermicomposting bin designed to turn organic waste into finished compost using worms. It fits in a 4×4 foot space and has the potential to process 10–15 lbs of organic waste per day, producing 45–60 lbs of vermicompost per week. Unit can hold 15-20 pounds of worms and self-regulates: worm population doubles every 120 days until maximum capacity is reached.
You feed organic waste into the top, and the worms process it from above. To harvest, you simply turn the handle on the side, remove the door, and collect finished, worm-free compost from the bottom tray, minimal sorting or separating is required.
It's 3 feet tall, 3 feet wide, and weighs ~86 pounds. A steel grate separates the processing area where the worms live from the harvest area below. A crank on the side functions like a flour sifter, breaking up the compost so it falls through the grate.
The unit is insulated for year-round use and features a raised floor design for maximum aeration, which speeds up feeding and composting times. It never needs to be emptied or restarted.
It's best suited for small businesses, schools or high-volume composting situations.
